Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush: Something About Berry Review!

Something About Berry is the other shade I purchased when Ulta had their 21 Days of Beauty sale for the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush by Too Faced. As pink being my signature color, I was most excited for this shade.

The shades include a pink peony color, shimmery gold/coral pink, and hot fuchsia. The hot fuchsia shade is my favorite due to the high pigmentation that packs punch on the cheeks. These shades will look fabulous during the summer with tan skin. Normally I wouldn't wear these colors on a daily basis but I'm too obsessed with pink, and this blush not to wear it often.

For my first application, I decided to wear a light amount. I wasn't sure how strong these colors would pick up with one swipe. As you can see the shade wasn't too bright or strong, but sat nicely on my cheekbones. I like that is was bright enough to notice, but not anything too drastic. For a nighttime look I would add more to stand out.

Overall I think this is a great addition to my blush collection. If I had to choose between this shade or the Peach Beach shade, I would choose Peach Beach due to creating a perfect natural look.

After reviewing, these products are my favorite ones I have tried from the Too Faced brand. I typically gravitate to Urban Decay's line of makeup if I am feeling like spending some good money on makeup. However, after this experience with Too Faced I'm excited to try more.

On a different note, the weekend is practically here! Hope it's a good one :)

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush: Peach Beach Review!

This stuff is seriously the best blush I have ever purchased. During the 21 days of Beauty sale Ulta was running I picked up the 50% off Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush by Too Faced. Since this product retails at $30 I decided to purchase the colors Peach Beach and Something About Berry.

First to try out was the Peach Beach shade-

Most days I am rocking a natural look, and this shade is perfect for completing that type of look. With this blush you can use all 3 colors for a beautiful blend, or use 1 color as a great highlight. Peach Beach combines hints of pinks, golds, and shimmery bronzes. Once applied, it looks like your cheeks have been sun-kissed. See below-

This is my first "baked" blush, and with that in mind I feel as though the blush sits well on my skin and lasts longer than other types I have tried. I wouldn't want to spend $30 on blush all the time, but after using this product it will be hard not to continue purchasing.

Stay tuned for my review on the other shade, Something About Berry!

Bellami Hair Extensions Review!

If you are checking the beauty blogosphere frequently you know that Bellami Hair extensions are all the rage!

Having medium length hair I grew tired of the long process of growing out hair. I figured extensions were my best option to save time, and to gain a voluminous look. I took a lot of time researching different brands to make sure I wasn't going to spend a ridiculous amount of money or purchase poor quality hair. Around the time I was interested in purchasing, Bellami was blowing up through various social media channels. YouTube, Blogger, Pinterest, Instagram; you name it. It was fate that Bellami caught my eye.

Bellami Hair offers various lengths, thickness, and prices for their hair extensions. With my length and fairly fine/flat hair I decided the Piccolina set would suit me best. At $100 this set weighs 120 grams and is 18 inches long. I was worried it might be too much hair, and that I would need to trim a few inches off, but it worked out just fine.

Here is my Piccolina set in the color Chocolate Brown (4)!

Below is a YouTube video that is a great guide for choosing the right shade. This video informs the Chocolate Brown color as a warm, medium brown shade with reddish undertones.

Having no experience with hair extensions I watched a ton of YouTube tutorials on how to clip in and style the extensions. Many of my favorite beauty gurus use Bellami; Nicole Guerriero, Carli Bybel, Jaclyn Hill to name a few. They all have easy-to-follow tutorials that can help girls like me out ;)

Overall I am very pleased with these hair extensions. I don't get to wear them as often as I'd like. I still need practice with teasing and curling that much hair! For someone like me who has never tried this before I loved the outcome and felt like a celebrity! It was a huge confidence booster for me and that right there is worth it!

Have a great Monday!!

Sephora + Pantone Universe The Face: Radiant Femme Artistry Set

Radiant Orchid: The 2014 Color of the Year!!!!!

As most makeup lovers know, last week Sephora ran their Spring Sale where Beauty Insiders received 15% off any item. So I took this opportunity to try out some of the limited-edition products Sephora released for the 2014 color of the year.

I was most eager to try out the Radiant Rush Matte Lipstick which was sold out online, so my next option to get the lipstick was the Radiant Femme Artistry Set retailed at $75.00.

The first item I tried out was the nail polish. It looked different in person than it did online. I was disappointed to find that it looked worse as I applied it on. The quality was equivalent to what you would purchase at a drugstore, not a high-end beauty retailer. I put on 3 coats and this was the outcome-

Not terrible, but not what I was expecting. The color barely resembles the "radiant orchid" I was anticipating.

Next was the main item I was excited to try; the matte lipstick. I was worried the color wouldn't look right on me, or that it would be too bright. To my surprise I was pleased with the outcome-

I only dabbed on a light coat to play around with.  I feel that with this shade you don't need to pack on too much color (depending on the look you are going for). The shade may appear pinker than orchid, but up close it's a good blend between pink and purple.

I haven't tried out the other items in the set yet, but once I do I will post an update!

This post was short and sweet just to give a summary on the products tried thus far. As I mentioned in my last post I have little experience with makeup. This is me on a whim trying to gain knowledge and insight on all things beauty!

Thanks!! :)

Starting this thing called blogging!

What's up world?!

For awhile now I had been wanting to start a blog. With my Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, I needed a creative outlet to continue my writing. It's hard these days as a working, twenty-something to take time to relax and write on a daily basis. I hope to use this blog as reminder to do so, and to post about any all things that interest me.

Lately I have become obsessed with beauty and fashion blogs. As a New Year's resolution I wanted to become more knowledgeable about all things makeup. This blog will follow my experimenting with such and trying to become a more fabulous, improved me! ;)

Stay tuned for more!!!!!
